The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) was founded in 1952 and is the only agricultural university in Slovakia. As its main activity and mission, SUA provides research and education in the field of agriculture and related areas: agrobiology; food resources and technologies; sustainable agriculture; biotechnology; mechanical engineering; automation of agricultural equipment; economics and management; international trade in agricultural commodities; marketing; rural development and project management. International activity is reflected in a significant increase in partnerships in research (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, COST, Interreg Europe, Interreg Danube Transnational Programme) and educational projects (e. g. Erasmus+ European Universities, Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships), as well as in membership in international consortia (SAFE, FHN-RI, FoodForce, EIT). Significant support for research activities and the transfer of technologies into practice is provided by the specialized research centre AgroBioTech. SUA actively participates in the development of various strategic documents and policy instruments, provides policy/expert recommendations and is in close cooperation with regional authorities, associations, institutes and companies.

The history and the prehistory of the HSWT are characterised by constant growth and, at the same time, by the ever-stronger orientation towards green engineering. From Horticulture to Climate Protection, it has been a long road that has been worthwhile. We are one of the leading national and international universities of applied sciences and green engineering. The Academy of Applied Preschool Teaching and Health Studies was founded by the Government of the Republic of Serbia on April 4, 2019, by merging the College of Applied Preschool Teaching Studies in Krusevac, the College of Applied Medical Studies in Cuprija and the College of Applied Preschool Teaching Studies in Aleksinac. In September 2022, the former Higher Chemical and Technological School of Applied Studies from Krusevac joined the Academy, so the Academy currently consists of four departments, with headquarters residing in Krusevac. The Academy is an independent higher education institution that combines educational, applied-research and professional activities as components of a unique process of higher education. The Academy is an institution that carries out the activity of higher education through the implementation of applied bachelor, specialist and master studies, from several scientific and professional areas within the following educational and scientific fields: Social Sciences and Humanities, Technical and Technological Sciences and Medical Sciences. With more than two thousand students enrolled in four departments, within 12 study programs, and 190 employed teachers and associates, the Academy aims to position itself as one of the leading educational institutions in the country. The Academy is a holder of ERASMUS Charter and is highly dedicated to constant modernization and internationalization and, accordingly, is actively involved in international cooperation projects, both strategic and structural, as well as teacher and student mobility projects within the Erasmus + program. In the previous decade, the Academy implemented several capacity building projects in higher education, in partnership with higher education institutions from across Europe. Mobility projects, KA131 and KA171, are also ongoing. Dedicated to scientific research, the Academy publishes two scientific journals, namely: Sinteze – a journal for pedagogy, literature and culture, and PONS – medical journal. The mission of the Academy is to develop and foster values, knowledge and skills students need for long-term success in educational, health and technical-technological professional activities. The vision of the Academy is to become a leading internationally accredited Academy for education of preschool teachers, computer scientists, technologists, nurses and other health workers, who will be able to perform tasks with highly professional practical experience both in preschool and health institutions and in the economy.
